She is a Canadian film and television actress, also known professionally as Alaina Kalanj (her birth name).

At the age of 13, Huffman went to her first audition for a Fox Family Channel pilot. Despite the competition, she was offered the main role. Robert Carlyle was raised in Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland, by his father Joseph, after his mother left him when he was only four. At the age of 21, after reading Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” he enrolled in acting classes at the Glasgow Arts Centre. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
