Synopsis:
Whilst on their next mission the team come across a valley of blue crystals which appear to have been attacked by the Gou'ald. O'Neill is injured when he touches one and the crystals creates an exact replica of the Colonel who returns to earth leaving the real O'Neill stranded and unconscious. Once there the replica seeks out O'Neill's searching for O'Neill son (who was killed before the First Mission in a shooting accident).
Meanwhile the Team are surprised by the return of the real Jack O'Neill and they discover that what they believed to be crystal is in fact a life form that can mimic them and read their thoughts.
This crystal lifeform proves to be unstable away from its natural habitat and O'Neill must race against time to save his wife from the blast of radiation that will result when the lifeform finally breaks apart.
