Synopsis:
When SG-9 go MIA on a standard mission, SG-1 are sent to discover their whereabouts. They learn that one of the consequences of gate-travel is that the people of the worlds they visit mistake them as Gods. The leader of SG-9 and Crater's ex-fiancée, Cpt Jonas Hanson has taken this literally and set himself up as the God of the planet's primitive cave dwelling population. He rules without mercy forcing them to rebuild the ruined temples, working without protection from the planet's harsh sum and condemning thousands of them to die from radiation exposure.
Believing her history with Hanson will allow her to get through to him, Carter allows herself to be captured. SG-1 must use the time that this distraction gives them to prove to the population that Hanson is not their God and has no power. With help from a native named Jamala, SG-1 must track down an ancient device that could protect the entire population and demonstrate that it lies outside the power of the planet's new self-proclaimed God.
